Come and meet the artists Jill Downen and Charles Gick at our gallery opening and reception on July 7th, 2006 from 7 to 10pm. Jill Downen is visiting Richmond from St. Louis, Missouri and is known for producing enormous interior landscapes that make reference to the human body and architecture. Jill Downen will also be holding a lecture on Thursday, July 6th at 3pm at the VCU Fishbowl - Room 301 in the Fine Arts Building at 1000 W. Broad Street, Richmond, VA.
Charles Gick, visiting Richmond from
West Lafayette, Indiana creates multi-media
installations which explore the ideas of
"vanishing contemporary rural space
and the struggles of the human communication".
