I know you were wondering what happens to the bees AFTER the show...

Remember the bees in Brigham's work in the Plane Text show? Well, local beekeepers Dave and Nancy, along with Vaughn Garland (above) and Joe Essid took bee matters into their own hands today.
I've never seen anything like this, but...I like it! Keeping things interesting down on Broad Street...that's the exhibitions committee all right.Bee-fore.

Dave: Hmmmm... Bees: Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz?

Nancy in her bee gear.

Dave: Nighty-night. Bees: BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!

Bees: zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

New home for the beezers and a happy ending. Does art-bee honey taste different than non-art-bee honey? Stay tuned...
And thanks to Joe Essid for the photos!

Here's an update: The bees are still on mah porch and doing well. After reading this blog, my plan is to keep them there until fall at least to get some of the urban art bee (not art bell) honey.
Once some is tasted and compared to honey made from bees whose lives are spent in theoretical discourse as opposed to creative expressionism, a note will be posted here letting you know the results.

Can't wait to taste! And check out how fast the ads on the sidebar changed in response to the post - hilarious.

Too bad we didn't get a picture of Jesse and I trying to get the artwork in the back of my CRV. It was not an easy job (and would have made quite an entertaining photo). Kudos to her for being such a dedicated worker bee.
